Latent
Photos by Feodor Telkov

(Nizhni Tagil - Ekaterinburg)

Feodor Telkov - an young active artist. He graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Nizhny Tagil State Social-pedagogical Academy known for its abstract painting school. Feodor is the worthy representative of this school; he is a synthetic artist, working in different kinds of art - in painting, drawings, and photography.

In the project "Latent" the artist will offer digital photography, having genre is defined uneasy. The contents of the pictures do not match with any existing genres. All photos are made in one exposure, but represent stratification of images or the light projections forming peculiar palimpsest where real subjects, spaces and faces are mixed with unreal mystical ones. So, on photos other worlds appear together with the recognized validity. Feodor does not fix the image but he creates it, drawing by light brushes at the moment of photographing (during long exposure).

Such original combination of technical capabilities of photography and paining touches demonstrate daring art and not out of the ordinary thinking of the author, which allows him to overcome traditional views on photo image and to solve creative tasks with easiness. The exposition "Latent" will be composed from artworks of cycle with the same name and from series "Rooms for solitude".

Feodor Telkova's exhibition is finishing the project "Reference point" that represented debutants - not only artists but also our curators - during two seasons. Work of OkNo gallery with young authors is not finished in the exhibition. We will open new names for our spectators and ourselves more than once.
