GOING INTO THE CITY

Everything in the world consists of two contrasts: one is steady and permanent, the other -- varying and mobile. So the city has skeleton from streets, avenues, squares, sidewalks and the changing part -- its inhabitants. The city is a peculiar portal where the past, the present and the future are crossed every instant. One of possible ways to see occurring changes is to imprint them in a photograph.

Just such pictures are submitted at the exhibition "Going into the city" by young photographers Sasha Sedel'nikov and Anton Kazakov. Two authors -- two different views. The exhibition of everyone is held in a separate hall.

Anton takes pictures on color middle size film, works in genre of portrait. Heroes of his art pieces are bright, characteristic, sometimes eccentric people. Peering at their portraits, you start to hear how they tell to us stories of the lives.

Sasha works in genre of reporting photography and shoots on black-and-white film. The interrelation of space of city and people is important for him.

Black-and-white and color, from a distance and closely, situations and portraits -- two authors, one walk into the city.
