Julia Bien Julia Bien (Bezshtanko) is one of few active and interestingly working contemporary artists in Chelyabinsk. Art for her is not reproduction of the reality, but an intense field for internal experiences. All Julia Bien's projects are non-interrupting reflection (independently of the form of implementation, whether creation of objects or installations, graphic sheets or photos, or execution of performances), in which the artist searches the answer to difficult philosophical questions. The project "Catalogue of Body" is Julia's new work in which she concentrates the attention upon human body as an art object possessing inexhaustible aesthetic expressiveness. The project consist of two parts. The first one is considerable amount of big-size photographs executed in stylistics of macro shooting technique. These are almost abstract photos of plastic bends of the body and skin folds. Coming closely as much as possible to the surface, the artist finds out beauty of plastics and graphics of body, structure of the skin, a variety of forms more likely associated with any overseas landscapes. Multipart performance becomes another section of the project. Its two parts are shot on video and will be showed on monitor, the third part will take place in the gallery in real time. The theme will be the artist's existential experiences of her own body, fragility and defenseless of its biological substance in contrast to its inexhaustible art potential. Presentation of the project and the performance will be held in art space Spider & Mouse on December 5 at 7 p.m. Art space Spider & Mouse tel: +7 (495) 613 83 43 OkNo Gallery in Internet: http://www.oknogallery.ru/ |
