About the artist

Leonid Tishkov (born in 1953, Nizhny Sergi, Sverdlovsk oblast)
Artist. Lives and works in Moscow.
He graduated from the A. Sechenov 1st Moscow Medical Institute. (1978), worked as the doctor, the scientific and art editor of "Medical Encyclopedia."
Since 1980 - a freelance.

He was published in Moscow Archives of New Art (1982, 1983), was in the group of artists of Furmanny Lane, worked in the studios at Chistye Prudy, participated in the group exhibition projects of these informal associations.

Member of the Union of Journalists (1982), the Moscow Union of Artists (1989).

Author of numerous solo exhibitions, including in Nasher Museum of Art (USA, 1993), Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Sofia Imber (Caracas, Venezuela, 1994), Block Museum (Ivenston, USA, 1995), the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts (1995) , Novosibirsk Picture Gallery (1996), Fargfabriken, Center for Contemporary Art and Architecture (Stockholm, 1998), the Yaroslavl Art Museum (1999), Nizhny Novgorod Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Art (NNB NCCA, 1999), NCCA (Moscow, 2000) , Museum of Nonconformist Art (St. Petersburg, 2000), Museum of Decorative Art (Moscow, 2001), Krokin gallery (Moscow, 2004-2006, 2008, 2009), CCA Ujazdowski Castle (Warsaw, 2006), the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art (2010), Children Art Museum (Kaohsiung, Taiwan, 2010), Taiss gallery (Paris, 2010).

Participant of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (2009), Krasnoyaskoy Biennale (2007, 2009), the Singapore Biennale (2009), the first South Russian Biennale of Contemporary Art (Rostov-on-Don, 2010), exhibitions: "Berlin-Moscow, 1950-2000" (State Historical Museum, Moscow, 2004)," Gropius-Bau "(Berlin, 2004), "Looking at Europe" (Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, 2006), "Progressive Nostalgia" (Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato, Italy, 2007) and many others.
