MOVING. Collage, drawings in water-colours

March 21 - April 11, 2008

Refat Mamutov -- one of representatives unique school of abstraction in Nizhny Tagil. He works in techniques of painting, pastel, water color, collage, assemblage, art object.

"Moving" is the second exhibition of the artist in OkNo gallery where collages and drawings in watercolours will be shown. These artworks have not exhibited anywhere before. (Seven years ago inhabitants of Chelyabinsk could see pictorial works and objects of the author).

Laconism and capacity of plastic language, generalization of forms are characteristic features of a creative manner of artist Refat Mamutov. A line in drawings or combination of scraps of color paper and newspapers in R.Mamutova's collages is enough for creation of the complex world of interrelations, sensations, experiences, the world where minimalism of expressive means only strengthens impression.

Participation of Refat Mamutov in the project "Reference point" representing debutants is not casual. He has truly established himself as an artist and has large teaching practice (an associate professor of Art and Graphic Department of Nizhny Tagil State Pedagogical Institute). Refat will carry out a seminar for young artists and art critics.

The exhibition will become a gift by seventh anniversary of the gallery.

Vernisage will be on March 21, 2008 at 18.00.
Admission by invitation only.

The exibition will be opened for public
from March 25 to April 11, 2008.
Admission free.
