Contemporary art gallery "OkNo"

presents the exhibition of painting by
Valery Khasanov (Nizhny Tagil, Russia)

March 20 - April 4, 2009

By tradition on its birthday OkNo gallery arranges an exhibition that was dreamed for a long time. This time it is painting by artist Valery Khasanov (Nizhny Tagil). An attentive spectator will note as there was one more exhibition of an artist from Nizhny Tagil -- Refat Mamutov -- the last year. Yes, Nizhny Tagil artists bewitch! Everyone of them has own unique art language.

Valery Khasanov's painting is distinguished by original, unusually harmonious conjugation of European abstract-expressive manner of performance and east ornamental motives. It is no wonder. V.Khasanov was born in 1966 in Andizhan in Uzbek Soviet Republic at that time, arrived to Ural in 1983, graduated from Art and Graphic Department of Nizhny Tagil State Pedagogical Institute in 1988.

The temperamental person and artist Valery Khasanov perceives the world through sensual perception. The basis of his works is always one of two beginnings: brightly shown emotion or thinly shaded mood. The artist applies unusual pictorial technique to transfer so complex, sometime hardly perceptible states: hide under one image another, quite independent but partially visible. Artistic method of correlation of various color and the plastic masses added with collages, forms refined pictorial texture and creates feeling of instability, variability of the visible image.

The exposition will be composed from works created by the artist for the period from 1989 to 2009.
